Our Story
Freely Adorned was birthed in 2020 for two main reasons: As a graduate student and an HR professional working in tech, the pandemic heightened my visibility virtually, while I also struggled to work and learn with no access to the hair salon.
The hair accessories industry continued to miss the mark by minimizing its focus on texture representation, leaving Black women like myself with fine curly hair and minimal images of the beauty of our hair, and how best to style our hair using their accessories.
These challenges combined catapulted Freely Adorned’s mission to offer colorful, conversational hair accessories you can see yourself wearing. Like many of you, I don't have much time to give the people a lil' razzle-dazzle, but with hair accessories like these, you won't waste time or an abundance of $ looking + feeling great. I believe in uplifting the hair rituals and traditions of Black women, so I'm intentional about the types of products I source with your healthy hair in mind.
You have a voice in this community, and I strive to guide Freely Adorned to amplify the experiences of women, especially Black women, at work and in the world. Stellar customer service is the heartbeat of how this thriving business runs. I strive to bring both efficiency and ease to your ability to shop, which comes all the way down to how long it takes for me to process orders; when you buy a product, you want to receive it as quickly as possible.
We don't believe in "bad hair" or "bad hair days," so we'll never make you feel like you don't belong here. You're beautiful, & your crown shall forever be freely adorned.
